One of the longest running traditions in the Grand Lodge of Pennsylvania is that of having each Past Grand Master sit for a painted portrait. This has resulted in a painting being displayed of nearly every Grand Master at The Masonic Temple in Philadelphia. The portraits of living Past Grand Masters are housed in and around the Franklin Room on the ground floor. When a Past Grand Master passes away, his portrait is moved to the hallway, where it takes a position in the official line up.
