Ello se explica por la tradicional impregnación religiosa de la sociedad y de las instituciones públicas sobre las que se han ido asentando nuestros Estados de derecho, a lo largo del silo XX. En ellos se ha sentido, de manera más específica, la necesidad de adoptar medidas drásticas conducentes a la emancipación civil y es en ellos donde es más preciso ahora aprender a distinguir entre “laicidad” como virtud ciudadana y “laicismo” como sistema opuesto a cualquier forma de espiritualidad.  El contenido simbólico de las enseñanzas de los maestros que, en todas las culturas y latitudes, han accedido a una forma “anagógica” del Conocimiento se ha visto sistemáticamente esclerotizado o disecado en dogmas diversos, recortados y embalados por los cuerpos o instituciones religiosas; per

In two conferences held by the Grand Masters of the Regular European Grand Lodges (the first one took place in London in 2007 and the last one in Geneva in 2013), the two Pro Grand Master of the United Grand Lodge of England, Lord Northampton and Peter Lowndes, reiterated, at a 6-year distance, basically the same concept: “Freemasonry has no role in society”. This important message aimed especially to dispel all the clouds and shadows wrapping Freemasonry not only in Italy, giving a distorted and disquieting representation of it. This message was not fully shared by all present members.
